Please explain to me the way I should send my SMS request ?
|
Our solution is based around receiving messages that are of the format
ORIGIN DESTINATION DAY_OF_WEEK AM_OR_PM
Each field in the message is separated by a space.
Because spaces are used to separate each of the fields, it is extremely important that they are not used in the Origin and Destination names.
The DAY_OF_WEEK is an optional field and can be any of the following values:
Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun, or Pub (for public holidays).
If the DAY_OF_WEEK is not included in your message, you will be returned all relevant ferry times for the current day.
The AM_OR_PM is also an optional field and can be eiether AM (for the morning) or PM (for the afternoon).
If the AM_OR_PM is not included in your message, you will be returned all relevant ferry times from the time you sent the message, to the end of the day.

What is the cost of the service ?
|
The cost of the service is: The cost that your mobile carrier charges you to send an SMS, plus 55¢ for each SMS that is sent to you in response.
For example, requesting the timetable for McMahons Point to Circular Quay for Sunday morning would result in two messages being returned. Therefore, the cost would be:
- the cost that your carrier charges you to send the message mcma circ sun am to 199 33779, plus $1.10 (i.e. two times 55¢ for each message Alchemedia sends to you).

Why am I receiving multiple messages ?
|
SMS technology only allows each SMS message to contain a maximum of 160 characters.
By providing as much information as possible within each request, often the response will have to be broken up into multiple messages.
In understanding this, we have designed our solution so that the customer receives the maximum information at a minimum cost.

Why is my message delayed ?
|
Alchemedia can not guarantee delivery of the messages. SMS and e-mail messages pass through telecommunications systems over which we have no control.
